Do you want to teach at a school in the Brainport region in the future? Would you like to prepare for the super diverse and international target group of students that you will find in your (regular) classroom? Do you want to work on your intercultural responsiveness as a teacher? Have you always wanted to take a look at the International School Eindhoven, get acquainted with Bilingual Education, or teach multilingual students in a First Reception for Foreign Languages (EOA)?
Then this Trion (FLOT) floor module is really something for you! During this module you will become acquainted with different forms of language education, visions of citizenship education and various types of (international) curricula. You will come into contact with education for students from extremely diverse backgrounds, in terms of language, culture, religion, economic and political status. Central themes are: IB curriculum, multiperspectivity, inequality of opportunity, multilingualism, Third Culture Kids, inclusion, equity, CLIL, translanguaging, super diversity, language-oriented vocational education, school, street and home culture, global citizenship, NT2, etc.
You start and your journey of discovery ends at FLOT and from there you are alternately immersed in different Trion schools that work in an international context. Each school has its own way of offering language education and giving substance to the above themes and concepts. By being briefly immersed in a different school context, you experience first-hand the differences and similarities in the interpretation. This will sharpen your own compass. Expert duos from FLOT and the schools offer you theoretical input and guidance in working on the learning outcomes.
